ROSITA TRIAL CLEAR BCKGRD

Blog

Welcome to my blog

Hello!

Out front the shop today, if you're driving past on the one way system in Hitchin, you'll see this stunning 1950s reproduction beautiful little number. It isn't only beautiful but also a heavy and substantially flouncy garment that will leave you well impressed with it's quality. They don't make them like this anymore. Five layers of fabric - five! All with built in underskirt. The autumnal shades of pink and floral pattern are strikingly romantic. This dress is exceptional and will without a doubt turn heads.

I love this Dutch label and small collection of 1960s style dresses. Pictured here is the basic black, but it comes in other colour ways and even psychedelic prints. They are fab looking, and easy to wear. This autumn, why not wear this garment layered over a contrasting t-shirt and skinny jeans, or simply with tights and your choice of flats, heels or boots!

Alot of changes in the shop this year, such as a long overdue, big reshuffle and refurb over the summer. New children's and adult clothing labels have started to arrive, as well as some jewellery brands that would tempt any magpie (they say it's crows that steal jewels and that magpies aren't actually attracted to shiny things!). Ayala Bar and Michal Negrin are causing a bit of a stir and envie.

Today I received the first shipment of Scandanavian brand Maxamorra clothing for babies and kids. The colours and prints are fabulous, beautiful quality cotton, and styles that look fun and fashionable. Finally a Scandanavian children's clothing label that doesn't cost the salt of the earth.

Over the summer, Rosita Lollipop was asked to stock the shelves of the two pop up shops at the six week long Secret Cinema Film Festival featuring Back to the Future. Petticoats and 1950s frocks were on call and freely flowing. Swish!

It may seem a bit early as the weather is quite warm this September, but a few coats have started arriving. I love this ice blue Narnia inspired coat pictured here. And this is only the tip of the ice berg. Wait till you see all the others coming in over the autumn winter season. This season is the best one yet.

Tomorrow there will be filming going on in the shop. And Saturday will be my first visit to Goodwood Revival. Up at the crack of dawn so as not to get stuck in traffic on the way into the amazing venue. This magical step back in time features motor racing, with all the accompanying spectacle and glamour of the era. Everyone dresses in pre 1966 period fashion and has a jolly good time!

I've been supplying clothing to glamorous women attending this festival for years, finally it's my turn. Looking forward to seeing all my fabulous customers and friends there!

See you all next week with some fun images from Goodwood :)

Welcome to the new Rosita Lollipop website. There are many beautiful new garments that we will be posting gradually throughout the week. Every week there are new shipments of women's, children's and men's clothing, not to mention toys, shoes, greeting cards, books published by Tate, the V&A and other great publishing houses, figured this was worth a mention as my biggest weakness is books!

We're a small shop with so much to offer, nothing less than fabulous and always full of surprises!

Still to be added to the site this week is the new Emily and Fin collection. So excited about this as they have yet again come out with another stunning collection. Simply mouth watering! And will leave you drooling! You'll see what I mean... ;-)

Must not forget the next onslaught of men's casino style 1960s and 1970s style shirts. Proper head turners, not for the faint hearted. They're for beautiful men who love to dress with style and elegance.

Join us every Monday night on twitter for #hertshour from 8-9 pm, it's local, and near and dear to our hearts!

In summary, we are a small independent lifestyle shop with a big heart. If you fancy a visit, brilliant! And if you're coming specifically for something you've seen on our blog or website, drop us line so we can do our very best to make sure you're satisfied with your visit.

Big love and peace
